REDUCE PRESCRIPTION DRUG COSTS

Here in Iowa, families know the value of hard work and saving for a rainy day, but even the most responsible households are feeling the squeeze from the rising cost of prescription drugs. Over the past decade, life-saving medications have become increasingly unaffordable, with prices in the U.S. far higher than in other countries. These hikes often come without explanation, rising faster than inflation and hitting rural and working-class communities across Iowa especially hard.

While Big Pharma tries to deflect blame and point fingers, the truth is simple: drug companies are putting profits over people. Iowans deserve affordable access to the medicines they need, not price gouging that endangers lives and strains families.

Iowans have long been troubled about the increasing price of drugs, with 82% of Iowans polled in 2018 saying they are concerned about these costs (WestHealth).
